Happy ending situation
The synergy between WVAH and The Barkley is working! Here is a prime example:
We had Maisy, a young yellow Lab, spending her Thanksgiving Holidays at the Barkley Pet Hotel. She was scheduled to spend  her days at Day Camp, swimming, and nights sleeping comfortably in her suite. One night during her stay, the Barkley Animal Care technician noticed that Maisy had a swollen snout & tongue caused from an allergic reaction to a possible insect bite. The technician immediately transported Maisy next door to  Westlake Village Animal Hospital where she was hospitalized and treated. She spent a couple of days at the hospital under Dr. Slaton and Dr. Rosenstein's care. Not knowing what stung her, she had to be closely monitored. A few days later the swelling went down and Maisy was ready to be picked up by her owner.  What a happy ending! Maisy could have had a much different ending had the Technician and the Doctors not been available immediately and on top of the situation. We are all grateful and happy for her recovery. This is a perfect example of why 24hour care in The Pet Hotel and Animal Hospital are such an important reason for using these two great facilities.
The synergy between the two facilities is working.
